The previous chapter may seem to suggest the idea that Of course I've had to work the long days up into the night and sometimes right thru the following day... who hasn't? That's something this job is quite (in)famous for and that's why in many software houses coffee is free for programmers.
We'll see in the next chapter what can be done to minimize the negative effects of such tour de forces (in terms of code quality). Here, however, I will only focus on the normal workday.
